Three dimensional lettering can be made from solid materials like various metals or shaped/moulded acrylic in just about any shape or size you can imagine.
The fabrication process also leaves an internal void which is ideal for illumination. Of course you need to use appropriate translucent acrylics to promote and control the light release. Illumination source can be neon, LED, globes or tubes and can be internal or back-lit.
